First Friday Nashville has been added as a Presenting Company for Class Inc, the signature Atlanta Classic event for young alumni at The Loft at CW Midtown on Saturday September 27th joining DIGITALGUESTLIST, Jump Boy, The Service Group, Savoir Faire Marketing and Prophecy Events.

The purpose of First Friday Nashville is to facilitate corporate networking and socializing opportunities for urban professionals of the greater Nashville area. FFN was founded in the 90’s by Jerome Davis who had a vision to enhance the business and social development of Nashville’s urban professionals by providing unique forums geared towards cultural and intellectual enrichment as well as networking and socializing.

First Friday Nashville is committed to exposing young urban professionals to non-traditional areas, venues and attractions of Nashville. Changing up the theme and networking vehicle each month is one of the keys to keeping the events fresh, as it ensures continual attendance and an expanding clientele.

Michanda (Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Fall 01), known as Miché, is originally from Augusta, GA . She is the ultimate female hustler always on the grind. She is currently the executive director of Sporty Girls, Inc., works with a local personality, occasionally a mixologist, and most recently started her modeling career.

While at FAMU, she was actively involved with the Infamous Marching 100, Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, SGA, and the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha.

She currently resides in Atlanta, GA.

Maurice Stewart is the managing partner with Drake Stewart, LLC, a licensed general contractor and full service business consulting and project management firm. Maurice graduated summa cum laude with an undergraduate degree in accounting and an MBA in Finance from Florida A&M University. After graduation, he worked for 5+ years on domestic and international projects with multinational investment banks and strategic consulting firms. Having been an entrepreneur since 2002, he severed his employment status with corporate America with the purchase of a million dollar contracting company in 2006. Maurice’s company Drake Stewart now provides commercial and government construction services. They are also providers of financial and strategic consulting services to individuals and small businesses.

As the president and founding member of the World Famous Superfriends crew, DJ Mars single handedly changed the DJ scene in Atlanta. Upon his arrival to the ATL in August of 1991, DJ Mars has had one wish and that was to be a house hold name in the national DJ scene. While attending Clark Atlanta University DJ Mars started his career DJ’ing in the cafeteria during dinner for $75.00. “Me, Trauma, and my man Doc used to split that 3 ways…actually that was probably the start of the Superfriends movement”.

From that point on DJ Mars’ career sky rocketed. He went from being Outkast’s original DJ to touring with Usher on his first album. Directly after returning from the Usher tour, DJ Mars’ club career went in the best of directions. “There was this club called Soho that was poppin’ on Thursday nights and me, DJ Doc, and Sol Messiah used to tear it down. Being that I was the youngest I had to open up, it didn’t bother me because I learned a lot from watching Doc and Messiah. They taught me crowd control and swagger.” From that point DJ Mars has played in every club in ATL, big or small. He’s DJ’d almost every platinum party that was ever promoted in Atlanta.

DJ Mars’ career now has him in new directions, currently he is touring witn Ne-Yo as he embarks on his world wide show schedule. Having toured with everyone from Ciara, Usher, Monica, Kelis, and now Ne-Yo, DJ Mars is no stranger to rocking in front of crowds. As you can see the president is busy doing what he does best, and that keeping the floors packed and keeping the people dancing. Brandon Plowden, Chris Jackson, and Brandon Mitchell have been elected to the Board of Directors for Class Inc, the signature event for young alumni during the Atlanta Classic, at The Loft at CW Midtown on Saturday September 27th presented by DIGITALGUESTLIST, Jump Boy, Savoir Faire Marketing, Prophecy Events, The Service Group, and UrbanProfessionals.com.

Brandon Plowden, aka BKP, can be found at any one of the premier hot spots within the Atlanta area on any given night. BKP, from Daytona Beach, FL, is currently a young thoroughbred professional in Atlanta that has raided the party scenes for 3 years from Vision, Verve, Compound, the Mark, and eleven50. While at FAMU from 2000-2004, BKP was the co-owner of the lucrative DogTagz & More business in Govenor’s Square Mall, as well as a avid street baller. BKP is a definitely a “party-in-a-kan” and is looking forward to catering the fellow alumnus of FAMU during the classic weekend in the same manner as we use to during the old club CPA and Club Deep days.

Audacious, goal-oriented and steadfast in his beliefs to leave a mark on this world Chris Jackson is no stranger to challenges life has to offer. Born the youngest of two children in Decatur, Ga., Christopher Sean Jackson was quite the precocious child, always in the forefront as a leader.  Over the years the precociousness was dropped, a more mature and refined man evolved.

A graduate of Southwest DeKalb High School, which is noted for the athletes they produce, Jackson was a member of the baseball and swim team. But, it was truly swimming that he loved and sought after high school was over.

Jackson took on swimming as a walk-on at Florida A&M University, and after a patient freshman year he received a partial scholarship for his sophomore year, which increased in following years.  The scholarship  helped him to reach his overall goal of achieving his Bachelors of Science in Journalism and Graphic Design in 2007. His sequence of study is public relation with a concentration in business.

Currently, Jackson works under the CFO/COO of DARP Records in Atlanta, Ga. He has plans on returning to school to get his juris doctorate/ MBA in the near future.

Brandon “B Mitch” Mitchell is a graduating senior at Florida A&M University from the Midwestern city of Kansas City, KS.  Although currently studying Computer Information Systems and serving as Step Master of the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., B Mitch is known as an electrifying entertainer.  While at FAMU, he has served as Rehearsal Director and one of the leading hip-hop choreographers of one of the most feared dance organizations in the South, the FAMU Strikers. Taking his entertainment career to new heights, B Mitch has performed in areas of dance and acting all over the country and has recently had the opportunity to work with R&B singer Chris Brown, and famous choreographers such as Debbie Allen, Chuck Maldonado, and Dave Scott in Hollywood, CA.  You can check out some of his video clips, photos, and upcoming events at www.b-mitch.com.

Alena McCord-Estes and Stephanie Johnson have been elected to the Board of Directors for Class Inc, the signature event for young alumni during the Atlanta Classic.

Alena is a 23 year-old graduating MBA candidate at Florida A&M’s illustrious School of Business and Industry.  A sweet GA peach, Alena is originally from Atlanta, GA and enjoys shopping, hanging with friends, attending exclusive social outings, and reading the Wall Street Journal. Upon completion of her Master’s degree Alena will be relocating to New York, where she recently accepted a role at a prominent Asset Management firm.  With a Tennessee State University alumnus for a mother, Alena has always attended the Atlanta Classic weekend, and looks forward to the fall event as a time to be with friends and family, and the premiere time to PARTY! Alena’s back ground in party planning and marketing as well as her fabulous socially involved lifestyle landed her the highly sought after Board Member position on this year’s Class Inc.’s host committee.

Stephanie, a.k.a. Ms. Social Butterfly, is most times found guilty for being most energetic, life of the party, and ensuring you there will never be a dull moment in her presence.  “Living and Loving this Life Thing” has been Stephanie’s motto of the year, and recommends the motto works best for those forgetting to value and appreciate life every day.

A true Rattler, bred and fed, Stephanie attended FAMU DRS K-12th, crossed the street and graduated with her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from FAMU’s SBI Program.  Currently working for AT&T in Atlanta, GA and now Washington D.C. bound, Ms. Johnson knows “this Corporate America thing” is simply her temporary vehicle towards success.  She recently declared following her dream and anxiously aspires to begin pursuing her passion of Interior Design and Creative Writing.

While at FAMU, Stephanie participated in several campus clubs and organizations, including the Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Spring 2005, FAMU Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, reigned as Miss Junior Attendant of the FAMU Royal Court 2003-2004, Miss Crimson and Cream 2006, and Miss Ten of DST 2004-2005.

Cyrah Hawkins [Upsilon Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi] has been elected to the Board of Directors for Class Inc, the signature event for young alumni during the Atlanta Classic, at The Loft at CW Midtown on Saturday September 27th presented by DIGITALGUESTLIST, Jump Boy, Savoir Faire Marketing, The Service Group, and Prophecy Events.

Cyrah is a graduating senior Criminal Justice student from Decatur, Georgia. While at FAMU, he’s been the President of the BET-winning FAMU Strikers, Mr. FAMU 06-07, Vice Basileus and Hop Master of the Mighty Melodic Bloody UP Upsilon Psi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., and a member of the FLARNG & Army ROTC, where he will receive his commission in August of 2009 to become a 2nd Lieutenant in the US ARMY. Mr. Hawkins is one of Dekalb County’s finest and he visits Southwest Dekalb High School every semester to mentor students from his alma mater.

Melissa Mitchell (Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha – Spring 2004), known as “M&M” and the “out of the box” AKA from Miami, has been elected to the Board of Directors for Class Inc, the signature event for young alumni during the Atlanta Classic, at The Loft at CW Midtown on Saturday September 27th presented by DIGITALGUESTLIST, Jump Boy, and Prophecy Events.

Known as a combination of God, Music, Fashion, and Community Service, Melissa is on track to following her destiny. If she’s not singing with a live band, she’s reading a book or writing music or poetry. She has a passion for the non-profit industry, and is truly focused on pouring love and knowledge into children.

You will never catch her out unless its a “happening event” – she’s very selective about where she goes. To put it simply, she is a woman who loves the Lord, painfully dedicated, loyal, driven, lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvver of soul music, and would do anything for a real friend.
